Speech
I remember walking up the path on friday at lunch with my Mum. Seeing all you year sixes playing in the playground when I was only 4 going to jump start in the library. You were only 5.
First I was the melting butter in Robin and Sandys class in year 1. I was pretty hard at first but then they softened me up ready to add the rest of the ingrediants so I could be mixed up. They laid the foundation for all my learning......Spelling, Writing, Maths, Reading. We did loads of amazing learning sheets in there.
Then into a land of sweetness with Ngaire. This was when I added the sugar and Vanilla Essence. I was a year 2. 1 cup She taught us lots of science like the balloon and vinegar trick! 2 cups fittness. I think we needed all the fitness with three cups of sugar!! At the moment i'm just Butter, Sugar and Vanilla, let’s start mixing......Now we should add an egg!
Year 3 I and cracked an egg into Ebonys class. Sport sport......production? New Zealand music & my dance song was Swing by Savage I did the dance with two other girls Bella and Hannah. We were back-up dancers for savage. NZ was our theme. We made trophies for rugby world cup 2011. Our buddy class aws Lou. This year was awesome.
In year 4 I sived my way through to Ngaire again and added the flour and baking powder. I had lots of bumps in me but she pushed them all down and made me tougher. I loved reading in that class.
Now I am in Nic's class with 17 year sixes. All you year sixes are the sprinkles on top of me. They have helped me along the way, we have had our ups and had our downs. But we are still really good friends.I would like to say goodbye to: Laken, MonaJh, Samantha, Sophie Hali and Erin. Well you guys have been here I have learned that friendship is one of the most importanted things in life.
I'm still in the oven but next year I am Hoping to be a big biscuit ready to be challenged and full of ideas.
A memory lasts forever never does it die...true friends stay together and never say goodbye...

Caitlin’s speech
I think this is quality because it has questions in it with answer . It also has lots of good language features .
When I'm gone you will just forget me because I won't be here anymore. RIGHT? WELL YOU THOUGHT WRONG.
I will leave something that you won't forget. It is not something that you can touch but a piece of my learning here that I will share with you in the hope that one day you will find this information useful.
I want to share this learning with you because I want you to develop to become the best you can be.
I have three main things to tell you about.
First, class learning is not just for in class time. A good example is writing. When we were learning to write character descriptions, I used this skill at home to write stories that have good descriptions of people. This helps me to understand how much I know about this person and how they operate. Another example is maths. With maths I can understand how long 1000km is when my family is driving to the south island at Christmas. I can calculate my change when I go to the supermarket. And I can double a recipe to make twice as many biscuits if needed.
The second part of my learning that I would like to tell you about is that learning is not just writing and maths. Learning can also be found in all the opportunities I have had outside the classroom - for example kapahaka, bookapediea, road patrol, jump jam and I have learnt a lot while representing the school in athletics, cross country and triathlon.
All these things have taught me so much about leadership, teamwork and the skills that each person brings to the community.
For example in kapahaka we spent a morning making Māori kites. We learnt how to make the amazing knots that hold the kites together. When you think about it, it is just incredible what some people know and understand about the world.
The third and last part of my learning that I want to talk about is friends and friend ship. You can keep good friends forever if you don't just walk away and leave them behind. Friends can help you with your confidence and your learning and they help you enjoy life even when there is lots of hard work to be done.
So I will give you a moment to think about it. Who has really helped you to develop to become the best you can be.
Friends are also people you can trust. I don't mean that you and your friends go around telling silly secrets but that they are there for you and will help you.
I have been fortunate enough to have made some great friends at Russell Street School. I would like to say a few words about some of them. First I have to mention Grace Minnis. She has been with me since Year 0 and we have supported each other for many years in good and bad times. I also have a group of friends - including Kate, Vaishnavi, and Brooke - who have been a big part of my enjoyment of learning this year. Then there is wider circle of friends who have helped me in many ways - both big and small - like Annalise, Latoyah and Laken.
If you have friends like these then I can guarantee you will have a great time and be successful.
There you have it. My three keys to learning and developing to become the best you can be. Listen in the class room and use those skills at home, Take all the opportunities you can to broaden your learning and understanding. Nurture your friendships and treasure your friends.
I am very glad to have told you this and for you to have listened . I wish you good luck in becoming the best you can be. If your friends aren't being the best, well you can show them how it's done and how much fun you have when you try your hardest at everything.
Thank you

Our Art Experiment
During class We Are Learing To: explain what you have learnt during the science of art inquiry. We did Lots of art and expeimented about it.
One afternoon Nic told us to get into groups of four and got some chalk, pant, pastil, dye and pencil. We doddled on our pice of papper untill he told us to stop. Then we write what we, sore, thought and wondered. After that we made a foto babble.
Our class went out and took some photos around the school. Next \we picked a photo and then we had to try and paint the same photo using water colour paint. Then we had to create a smaller version using your own water colour paint that we made. It was much harder to do that because we did not have the right colours and our colour faded. The ingredients were;: corn flour, houny, salt, white vinerga and baking soda and to make the colour food colouring.
Our class learnt about the tree states of mater. We watched Bill Nigh the scince guy. The three states of mater is solid liquid and gas. There was another a ther one witch was plassma we did not learn about that though.

My Book Trailer
Focus - Persuasive writing
Purpose (Why are we writing)- to persuade people to read my book.
W.A.L.T make a book trailer -
Think of a book trailer as something like a movie trailer. It is a short preview designed to get people excited about your book. When designing a book trailer, you should consider the following.
Success Criteria:
Persuasive phrase - Words
Good images from the book
Not too long - 1 - 1 1/2 minutes
The music fits the mood of the book - Catchy
Use the main and most interesting parts
Persuasive question? - Will the poison work?
Make sure we don't use the imovie ready made trailers
We need a plan
We need a storyboard

Our Rain Harvester
The PRS'S read a book called Water Worries. We sore a paragraph about harvesting rain. We thought it would be a cool idea if we made our own rain harvester. Our first attempted didn't work out. The next try worked out well, until we released that the bucket was way to big to fit between the bamboo sticks!! So someone thought it would be a great idea if we berried it. The boys did all of the digging!! We tied some string to the fence so it wouldn't fall. Once we finished we took a photo of it. It was fun making!

Journey 2 mysteries island
BOOM! The Volcano exploded and hit our helicopter. I had forgoten everything that had happened. The only thing I remember was being in a huge helicoptor with my big brother. My Monkey dragged me onto sure. He had saved my life. I gazed down at my sore shin and asked my Monkey if he could get me something.
I stood up and looked around. I sore an old rusty windmill. It I walked closer to it. There was little hole in it. I walked in it but there was only sticks, rocks, leaves and a little black bird. in it.
I walked out of the windmill and ran down a path incase someone comes to find me. I started to get puffed so I walked and waked some more. I was looking at the things beside me to see if there was some water or food or maybe even a little hut that could give me shelter. I was so tired so I stoped and found a little bunch of grass
I heard something. It was another helicopter I thought it was coming to save me. So I waved my arms every were, but they didn’t notice me at all.I started to get puffed so I walked the rest. I think I hear something I said in joy to my Monkey. It is a helicopter we are saved! The people in the Helicopter looked down at us.They landed safely. They ran to me to make sure I was ok. I got my Monkey and we jumped in the helicopter.I was so happy to be at safe home. With food and water not salty water.

taste bud test
Our taste bud test.
Do you know the differnt places in your tongue. On Monday We had to eat cheese, a cracker, Lemon juse and houny “eww yuck”. I will tell you the differint places in your tongue. the front of your tongue is sweet, the back of your tongue is bitter the sides are sour and the front sides are salty.
Firstly we ate a little cube of cheese. We wriggled the cheese around in our mouth to see what part we could taste it. Mine was bitter at the back of my mouth. I have tasted better cheese before.
Next up we had a little yummy Cracker. When i bit into it I did the same thing. to me the cracker was salty and sweet.
Thirdly we drunk some lemon juse. we got a few drops in our hand. We drunk it.For me it was sour.
Then it was time for the disgusting honey! We all got some honey on our finger. I DID NOT EAT MINE!!
