Inquiry | language and culture.
WALT: gather information
Decription
Every Wednesday we have been working through the Get it, Sort it, Use it model to inquire about different countries around the world and their languages/culture. We each brainstormed a potential list of subjects and chose what we wanted to find out more about and then started our research.
Evaluation:
1. What are you most proud of? That I gathered all the information that I wanted to learn.
2. What did you find challenging? Trying to pronounce the french numbers right.
3. My next ‘Get It’ goal is? Find out how they cook the snails and frog legs.

Scratch Jr Portfolio Sample.
WALT: Use Code
Description: We have been learning how to use the iPad app called Scratch Jr during Buddy Time. It is an introductory app for using and writing code, which is a computer language that gives instructions to everything we see and do on any device. Task: Create a short clip using Scratch Jr to share the learning that has been happening in our classes.
Criteria:
Your presentation must have:

Audio recordings
Sharing of learning from both classmates
Creativity
Collaboration.

Reading Sample | Ki-O-Rahi
Criteria:

This term and last term we were learning about the legand of Ki-O-Rahi. Me and another 15 kids were chosen to get trained for a tournament. We played a whole lot of schools from around the Manawatu. We played levin in the final and lost and got 2nd overall.
Evaluation:
What are you most proud of and why?
That it has lots of coulors but it's not over bord on each square.
What challenged you the most and why?
Getting it done in time and making sure everyone had something to do.
Next time, what is a goal you can work towards?
Getting it finished before dead line and maybe not to much decoration.
Feedback/Feedforward:Nice work maia I like the way you used a range of colour next time you should try and get a clearer pitcher other then that great work. Kobe

Term 3 Maths Sample
WALH: To continue a number pattern and find the rule finding the next number.
Description: For maths this term we have been learning a range of strategies to help us solve algebra problems.
Task: Make a poster/movie to prove that you have achieved your maths goal.
Criteria:

That I didn't go over board with colors and that the answers are right.
What challenged you the most and why?
Trying to make challenging questions so I can challenge myself.
Next time, what is a goal you can work towards?
Make a prove it because I didn't do one this time.

Writing draft.
Bla bla bla is all I can hear until now....
“So how's James" Nana asked.
“Very good" I say.
“Any girls" she wounded. I start to think with mischievous look in my eye. “Ummm yes" I say.
She looks shocked should I have lied to an 86 year old or not? Well there's no going back now. Here goes nothing.
“They even have kids” 3 i fact. I admitted. But before I could say anything mum snapped at me
get to the car Maia NOW! No you can't make me.
You wanna bet says mum
no I reply. I go to the car. Anna comes. I give her a message to say to mum. Guess what the answer was NO. I wonder if I can get away with sneaking in like a spy. I try it I go a little further. Then I here Anna say
“ please welcome Maia"
“No" says Mum angrily.
So I wait and wait in the car. Then I can here a little sound a little squeak and Mum and Nelson Come. The car was silent. Man I'm young to be dead when everyone goes.

“Get to the car Maia NOW”! She ordered
“No you can't make me”. I say
“You wanna bet says Mum”
I sigh and trod off to the car. Anna comes over and said that was very entertaining. I give her a message to say to mum. Guess what the answer was NO. I sit and toss turn until a thought hits me.I wonder if I can get away with sneaking in like a spy. I try it I go a little further. Then I here Anna say
“ Please welcome Maia"
“No" says Mum angrily. But I come in anyway.
"Get" my yelled. I go back and Anna appears.
So we wait and wait in the car. Then I can here a little clatter a slight squeak and Mum and Nelson Come. The car was silent. Man am I dead or what.
